Why I'm building it.

Back when I was playing in bands, it sucked to have to find a way to make an EPK, wonder what to put in it, and figure out how to draw a stage plot. What goes in the email? How do I get links in there? Booking shows would have been a lot easier and a lot less stressful with something like this.

Where it started.

LiveEPK started as a tool for my buddy and former drummer, who runs a recording studio. He needed press kits for his artists, and I was going to create them by hand, one at a time. Instead I got the idea to build something he could use himself to make them. As I worked on this, I started to wonder if other bands could also benefit from it. That's how LiveEPK came to be.

Go check out his studio, MidWav Studio in New Braunfels. I've done everything from hanging sheetrock to recording whole albums in that room, and spent more hours jamming in it than I can count.

How I run it.

I try hard to keep LiveEPK easy. You don't need design skills, and you don't need to know how to build or host a webpage. Type in what you've got, pick a template, hit publish. If you have a problem, it'll be me you're talking to.

I take bands' suggestions seriously, and a lot of what's in LiveEPK came from them. I also like promoting artists, so if you want your EPK featured on the site as an example, with a link to your band's website, send it over.

Still in it.

I don't tour anymore. I got married, became a dad, and work with websites now. LiveEPK is how I stay connected to music without the late nights and the driving, which I miss, by the way, but don't tell anybody.
