The short version
A setlist template is a setlist with someone else's songs in it. Pick the one closest to your gig, open it in the setlist maker, paste your own list over it, and download the PDF. Nothing to install and no account.
01 What is in each one
What a setlist template includes: three copies of the same list.
- The stage copy. Song titles in the largest bold type that fits the page, with keys in the margin. This is the one taped to the floor.
- The band copy. A table with key, length and a notes column for capo positions, who starts, and anything that changes.
- The sound copy. Lengths and a running clock, so the engineer knows how far into the set each song lands.
- Set labels, breaks, an encore and a spares box, with the running time of each set.
All four examples use made-up acts. The songs are real, so you can judge how a title of that length prints.
02 Cover band
Cover band setlist template: two long sets, a break, an encore.
The Night Shift play a bar from nine to close: twelve songs, a fifteen minute break, eleven more, and one held back for the encore. The two sets do not fit one page at a size anyone could read, so each set prints on its own page. Three spares sit in the box for requests.

03 Wedding band
Wedding band setlist template: the fixed moments, then the dance floor.
The Saturday Linens open with the first dance and mark the father and daughter dance and the last song in the notes column, where the band copy shows them. Everything between is built to keep people dancing. Set one runs just under the hour the planner gave them.

04 Original band
Original band setlist template: a 30 minute slot, timed.
Paper Lanterns have a 30 minute showcase slot and seven songs. With so few titles the stage copy prints at 52 point, which you can read from the drum riser. The clock shows 30:10 with gaps counted, so one song has to shrink or go, and the spare stays in the box.

05 Solo act
Solo acoustic setlist template: one long list and a capo column.
June Calloway plays a ninety minute patio set alone. Fifteen songs fit one page with keys in the margin, and the capo positions live in the notes of the band copy she keeps on the music stand. Spares cover the requests.

06 For a pen
Blank setlist template: a printable PDF.
If you would rather write it by hand, this is one page with numbered lines, columns for key, time and notes, and a box for spares.

Handwriting is hard to read on a dark stage. Use a thick marker, or type the list into the setlist maker and let it size the type for you.
07 Quick answers
Setlist template: common questions.
- What is a setlist template?
- A setlist template is a ready-made setlist layout you fill in with your own songs. A useful one has room for the song title, the key, the length and a short note, plus set breaks and an encore. The LiveEPK templates open in a free setlist maker, so you change the songs on screen and download a PDF.
- Is there a setlist template for Word or Google Docs?
- You can build one as a table in Word or Google Docs, but you have to pick the type size and fit the page by hand every time the list changes. The LiveEPK setlist maker sizes the type to fill the page on its own and prints a stage copy, a band copy and a sound copy from one list. There is also a blank PDF on this page for writing by hand.
- What should a band setlist template include?
- Song titles in order, large enough to read from the floor. Then, for whoever needs them: the key, the length, and a note such as a capo position or who starts the song. Longer shows need set labels, breaks, an encore, and a few spare songs.
- Can I edit these setlist templates on my phone?
- Yes. Each template opens in the setlist maker, which works in a phone browser. You can edit the list, download the PDF, and share a link that opens a dark stage view on any phone.
- Are the setlist templates free?
- Yes. There is no account and no watermark. Each printed sheet carries one small credit line at the foot.
